April 22nd was a memorable day in the lives of the ambitious, inspiring and young women from all around the country as Linda Ikeji, the social media entrepreneur, holds the third edition of her conference titled “I'LL RATHER BE SELF MADE CONFERENCE,” partnered by Yodala and Access bank which took place at Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The event which turns out to be remarkable, was anchored by Forbes Africa correspondent, Peace Hyde and was also graced by notable Nigeria female icons such as Femi Adetiba. Tara Fela Durotoye, Foluso Gbadamosi, Omoni Oboli, Dr. Ola Orekunrin, SP Dolapo Badmus and Linda Ikeja herself, and they all served as speakers on various subjects that were inspiring, enlightening and giving insights on the pathways to being successful by sharing their personal experience on how they went through the journey of success.

The speakers inspired, taught and awakening the zeal of the young women who were in attendance, some of whom were secondary school girls from Doregos private academy, Ijaja, Vivian Fowler Memorial School, Ikeja; Fountain Height School, Adelabu; Mikotoy Schools, Alimosho and Unique Heights, Magodo, and they were encouraged to take charge and also to treat people with love and respect.

Linda also gave kudos to her mother for seeing her and six other siblings through through life in Mushin quoting that "life is not about luxury but impact in the society and this is one of the steps I have taken in choosing to give N10 million for fifteen ladies to run their various business”. This was the highlight of conference and one that deserve commendation especially from the back drop of Linda social media marketing success.

The Digital marketing industry in Nigeria is just springing up, and practitioners must continue to develop programmes such as this to stimulate growth in the social media marketing industry, and Linda Self-made Woman Conference is a right step in the right direction, and attempting to catch them young organizing this type of conference is a great way to achieve the desired growth by encouraging young entrepreneurs to venture into business and place Nigeria in the global map.
